Eigetsu Kyoto review (Eigetsu West)

Haunting, creaking, beautiful
Eigetsu is a traditonal style machiya located in the Higashiyama in Kyoto. They have two houses side by side, east and west. We stayed in Eigetsu West which I thought looked more appealing with its traditional style bath. For just the two of us, the property was generously sized.
I loved all the old details of the wood beams and dark colours. I took a bunch of photos at night, so it ended up looking even darker. The traditional bath is a real treat, you can open the window to let in cool air while you soak, and there's suitable privacy in the small garden.
We loved our stay here and I hope we can go back.
Price
We paid about 140 USD per night but the price has gone up a bit.
